Too many ripe bananas at home and you don’t know what to do with them?
Unexpected guests are visting but you don’t have any cake or cookies to offer?
How about baking some delicious fluffy chocolate banana bread?
Not only is this a great way to get rid of overripe bananas, it’s also super quick and easy and satisfies both cravings for bread and cake at once.
And not to forget about that wonderful smell that fills the house..
For one small loaf you will need:
300g flour of your choice
1tbsp corn starch
1tsp baking soda
2-4 ripe bananas
250ml plant milk of your choice
50-80g dark chocolate
First mash your bananas with a fork.
Mix the flour with corn starch, baking soda, mashed bananas and 250ml plant milk.
Break the chocolate into small pieces and add the pieces to your dough.
Fill the bread dough into a baking tin and put some extra banana slices on top if you like (it’s pretty..).
Put your banana bread in the oven on 180 degrees for about 30-45min, depending on your oven.
The bread should be ready when it starts to get golden brown on the top.
You can vary with the ingredients.
The more bananas you add, the sweeter your bread gets. If you like it more chocolaty, add more chocolate. I prefer my banana bread to not be that sweet but rather add some peanut butter jelly on top. 🙂
However, that’s totally up to you, banana bread already tastes super yummie on its own without any toppings.
