Jag talar lite Svenska.

Yes, I talk a little Swedish but it’s really just a tiny bit. I went to Sweden for 5 months last year for a semester abroad (with Erasmus programme) and there I also had a Swedish course at university. It’s sad you unlearn languages if you don’t use them regularly.

So, Sweden.. I really love this country. I’d never been there before but I was always fascinated by the Northern countries. I wasn’t too far North though. My university was in Kristianstad and that’s also where I lived. Kristianstad is a cute little town. I stayed in a hostel for students and shared a room with a French girl. And it really was just a big room with a small kitchen corner and a tiny bathroom. So there was no privacy because we didn’t even have separate rooms to sleep. I never thought I could stand something like this for a long time ‚cause I’m a person that needs a lot of alone time but you can accustom to anything if there’s no other option. 😉 I just couldn’t afford another accomodation because Sweden is very expensive.Weiterlesen »Jag talar lite Svenska.

How to start running and stay motivated.

They say money can’t buy happiness but it can buy running shoes and that’s kind of the same thing.

I’ve been running for almost 4 years now and I normally run about 3-4 times a week, sometimes less, sometimes more. I usually run between 8-10km (~10km/h). I just wanted to share some tips with you because I know how hard it can be to motivate yourself. I also want to point out that I’m not the fittest, most motivated, positive thinking,.. person around and that I was super unsporty when I started.. So if I can do it, anyone can. 😀

No formaggio, please.

Finally a more current travel report..

In April this year I went to Sicily with my boyfriend for a few days – my first vegan vacation!
I was a little worried about getting vegan food there but it was absolutely no problem. In Italy you can always eat pasta with vegetable sauce, pizza without cheese, antipasti,.. You just have to make it clear to the waiters which can be a little tricky if you’re not talking any Italien, like me. So I just always said „no formaggio, no formaggio“ and made funny gestures. 😀 So it really was no problem.

Why vegan?

„Be the change you want to see in the world.“ – Mahatma Gandhi

That’s why. I used to think that one single person doesn’t make a difference but I completely changed my way of thinking.

I’ve known for years that something went completely wrong in our world today. I knew about the suffering of the animals. I’ve never been someone who said „if you buy organic animal products it’s ok, it comes from happy animals“. I kept on eating everything anway because I was really good in suppressing these things (like so many people are..).

I even admired vegans but I said „I think it’s great but I could never do it myself“. Well, turned out I can.

No accommodation? No problem.

The first time (seems I had many first times within the last years 😉 ) I went on vacation without booking an accommodation was 2013 when I went to Tenerife with my boyfriend. Well, okay, we booked one but just for 2 days via airbnbWe stayed in Puerto de la Cruz for 2 days and I really enjoyed it because I had never lived in a big city like this before so it was really exciting to have a room right in the center. The only thing that was a little annoying was that it took such a long time to find a parking spot there. It’s said that about half of the people driving the car through the city are actually just searching for a free parking spot. 😀 In Puerto de la Cruz my boyfriend got himself a secondhand surfboard. I also wanted to have one but we couldn’t find a beginner board.

How my second time at the ocean made me a surfer.

Just kidding, it didn’t. 😀

Like I mentioned in my post about Portugal, I wanted to take surfing classes. So 2012 I went to Bretagne/France together with my boyfriend and we booked classes for beginners. I took two weeks, he took one. He already was able to surf but not that well so he decided it couldn’t harm to learn more about the right technique. I was quite happy because so I didn’t have to go there on my own with all my excitement. We stayed at a campground again but this time we had a small bungalow which was pretty cosy.. and cheap of course. We found it at Camping de la Torche.

How my first time at the ocean made me a runner.

The first time ever I got to see the Atlantic ocean (or any ocean) was in 2011 in Portugal. It was also just my second flight ever and the first and so far only time I was flying alone. My boyfriend stayed in Portugal for 4 weeks and I joined for the last 2 weeks because sadly I couldn’t take more time off from work.

We stayed in a small tepee at a campground in Ericeira because I don’t really like tents too much and it was really cheap.

They say it’s never too late..

..to start a blog. 😉

Well, so the last weeks I was surfing on the internet quite a lot and found a lot of blogs and youtube channels that have been so inspiring to me that somehow this evening out of the blue I decided to launch a blog. I have absolutely no experience with blogs but hey – who has when starting a blog? 😀

In this post I just wanna introduce myself a little and what I plan to put on this blog.Weiterlesen »They say it’s never too late..
