Did you know you can make your own juices without a juicer? I don’t own a juicer but I really love green juices, especially after the juice cleanse I did last month. Buying them is pretty expensive plus you can’t even find them in the normal supermarkets around here. That’s the reason why I decided to give making my own juice a go even if I don’t have a blender. Here’s how I did it:
Ingredients (for about 1l of juice)
1/2 broccoli head
2 handful of spinach
1 tbsp wheatgrass powder
Blend all the ingredients together with some water into a smoothie. Depending on what kind of blender you have, you may need to add more or less water. As you’re making a juice in the end anyway, it’s not a problem if the smoothie is a little more watery. After that, pour the smoothie through a nut milk bag or a fine mesh strainer. You can even use a washing net, that’s what I did. Better don’t put the whole smoothie in there at once but bit by bit. If the smoothie doesn’t go through the holes easily just like that, you can help by squeezing it with your hands. I even wringed out the smoothie in my washing bag in the end to get all the liquid components out of it.
If you try making the juice, I hope it works well for you and that you enjoy the juice as much as I do. I originally only added the avocado as it was left over from my last meal but I think it works really well with the juice and gives it a nice smooth touch.
