I got nominated by Sandra from Lana Lifestyle to join in the „Liebster Award“. <3 It’s a German blogger game but I decided to give the answers in German and English as a lot of my readers don’t understand German.

What makes you happy?

There are so many things but I think it’s mainly the small non-materialistic things: a good book, beautiful music, nature, running, surfing, animals, doing something for others, feeling loved, delicious food..

If there was one thing you could change about yourself, what would it be?

I would stop comparing myself and my life to others and to think about the past and future all the time. I would just be present and live in the here and now, being grateful what is now and what I have now instead of always having an eye on what others have and what the future might bring.

What are the most important values/principles in your life that you base your actions, plans and decisions on?

For me as a vegan it’s most important to show all beings – humans and animals – love, respect and compassion and to respect nature.

What is the topic all humans should deal with in your opinion?

There are quite a few which I think are essential: sustainability, nature protection, health, animal welfare, clothing production,..

What was the worst job you ever did?

As a teenager I once had a 2-week vacation job and stood in front of a machine for 2 weeks, deburring production parts for 8 hours a day – a monotonous work during which you don’t have to think. While doing it I literally felt empty, unhappy and without purpose.

Do you have a personal vision?

No concrete one, no. I guess I just want to make the most out of this gift called life and contribute making this world a better place while doing so.

What had been the most beautiful compliment you ever got?

It may sound trivial but it always makes me the most happy when people tell me I’m funny. Personally I love humorous people who make you laugh and don’t take life too seriously but I actually don’t really perceive myself as being one of them.

What would you do with an infinite amount of money?

Travel, surf, and help others, for example by building schools or animal sanctuaries.

City or country person and why?

Country person – I need nature to calm down and recharge my batteries. Furthermore, I’m quite an introverted person and being surrounded by people and noise all the time takes away my energy. However, for the experience I could imagine living in a big city for a limited period of time.

Which music is indispensable for you?

I listen to a lot of different kinds of music and am open to pretty much anything but there would be something missing in my life without metal and classical music/soundtracks.

Was macht dich glücklich?

Da gibt es so vieles, ich denke, es sind hauptsächlich die kleinen, nicht-materiellen Dinge im Leben: ein gutes Buch, schöne Musik, Natur, Laufen, Surfen, Tiere, etwas für andere tun, mich geliebt fühlen, leckeres Essen..

Wenn es eine Sache gäbe, die du an dir ändern könntest, welche wäre das?

Ich würde aufhören, mich und mein Leben mit anderen zu vergleichen und ständig an die Zukunft oder die Vergangenheit zu denken. Ich würde gerne einfach im Hier und Jetzt leben und dafür dankbar sein, was jetzt ist und was ich jetzt habe anstatt zu schauen, was andere haben und was die Zukunft bringt.

Was sind die wichtigsten Werte/Prinzipien in deinem Leben, auf denen deine Handlungen, Pläne und Entscheidungen beruhen?

Als Veganerin ist es für mich am wichtigsten, allen Lebewesen – ob Mensch oder Tier – Liebe, Respekt und Mitgefühl entgegenzubringen sowie unsere Natur zu achten.

Mit welchem Thema sollte sich deiner Meinung nach jeder Mensch auseinandersetzen?

Da gibt es einige, die ich für essenziell halte: Nachhaltigkeit, Naturschutz, Gesundheit, Tierschutz, Kleidungsproduktion,..

Welches war der schlimmste Job den du jemals hattest?

Ich stand mal als Teenager in einem Ferienjob für 2 Wochen an der Maschine und habe 8 Stunden Teile entgratet – eine monotone Arbeit, bei der man nicht denken muss. Dabei habe ich mich regelrecht leer, unglücklich und ohne Sinn gefühlt.

Hast du eine persönliche Vision?

Nicht konkret, nein. Ich denke, ich möchte einfach aus diesem Geschenk Leben das beste machen und dabei dazu beitragen, diese Welt zu einem besseren Ort zu machen.

Welches war das schönste Kompliment, das du jemals bekommen hast?

Es klingt vielleicht banal, aber ich freue mich immer am meisten, wenn mir Menschen sagen, dass sie mich witzig finden. Ich persönlich liebe humorvolle Menschen, die einen zum lachen bringen und das Leben nicht so ernst nehmen, nehme mich selbst aber meist nicht als sonderlich witzig wahr.

Was würdest Du tun, wenn Du unendlich viel Geld hättest?

Reisen, Surfen und anderen helfen, beispielsweise durch den Bau von Schulen oder Gnadenhöfen für Tiere.

Landmensch oder Stadtmensch? Und warum?

Landmensch – ich brauche die Natur, um abzuschalten und Kraft zu tanken. Zudem bin ich ein eher introvertierter Mensch und die ganze Zeit von Menschen und Lärm umgeben zu sein, raubt mir meine Energie. Dennoch könnte ich mir der Erfahrung wegen vorstellen, für eine begrenzte Zeit in einer Großstadt zu leben.

Welche Musik ist für dich unentbehrlich?

Ich höre sehr viele unterschiedliche Musikstile und bin offen für so ziemlich alles, aber ohne Metal und Klassische Musik/Soundtracks würde meinem Leben etwas fehlen.
