My Fasting Experience

Last month I decided to go on a therapeutic fast (“Heilfasten” in German). I always wanted to do a real fast, just as an experiment and because I know there are true health benefits coming with it. I had done two 3-day juice fasts in the past but I feel they were not ideal as I constantly felt hungry because of all that fruit sugar spiking my blood sugar levels all the time. 9 things I’m grateful for in 2019.

1) Before anything else I’m beyond grateful for my partner and all the love and support he shows me and the love I feel within myself. It’s not always been easy with our situation and it probably won’t get any easier in the future but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Why I’m not changing my name.

The other day I got a comment under one of my Instagram photos telling me “you’re disgusting, you’re a carnist, you were never vegan, you should change your account name”. First of all I felt that comment was pretty rude and second no, I’m not gonna change my name. Here’s why.. It’s true that I originally chose the name plantifulalexandra in reference of only eating plant foods. However, over the years I got quite attached to the name and people know me (or my account) under that name, it’s pretty much my “online identity”. Intermittent Fasting? Diet Update.

A few months ago I talked about why I’m not practicing intermittent fasting. In case you wanna read about this first, you can find the blogpost here. However, sometimes your eating habits change because of your current life situation or just because you choose to try something new.
