So far in my life there had never been a point where I loved everything I do – except for when I was a child, I guess (although even back then there had been days I didn’t wanna go to kindergarten). In school I had to do stuff I couldn’t stand all the time. After school there was a phase when I had nothing to do except for a part-time job at Subway (actually my favourite job so far) but on the side had the pressure to write applications and go to job interviews. I didn’t enjoy the job I…

Staying healthy and fit while traveling isn’t possible? Sure it is! Here are 12 tips that hopefully are helpful for you: Make Health A Priority I guess, the most important thing is to start your travels with the right mindset. If you’re already telling yourself “oh, once I’m on vacation, I probably won’t be eating healthy or work out anymore anyway”, this probably is what’s going to happen. On the other hand, if you decide for yourself to keep your healthy lifestyle or at least quite a healthy lifestyle while traveling, you’ll find a way to make it happen only due to…

Instagram Q&A – Your questions, my answers.

I asked you to ask me some questions on Instagram a while ago and actually got quite a few.. I’m going to answer them in German and English as I got questions in both languages. Oh and by the way, before I start: I also have a Tumblr account (plantifulalexandra) so there is always the option to ask me something there, even anonymously. So, let’s start answering.. Why and why did you start with Instagram? I actually scrolled down to the start of my account for this: I started in May 2015. And why? Well, I’ve been looking through Instagram already for…

Surfing & Citylife in Morocco

After my first trip to Morocco earlier this year, I went back to this country again for 2 weeks this month. Last time I visited the rural area in the South but this time I went to Casablanca and Rabat. Rabat is the capital of Morocco. Why Morocco again? There are 3 reasons for this: 1. I fell in love with this country the last time. 2. I wanted to go surfing again which is possible there. 3. One of the surf instructors I knew from the last time asked me if I wanted to visit again and to take surf…

There’s more to health than just diet and exercise.

A lot of people that approach a topic such as health, mainly talk about eating a healthy diet and working out but leave everything else aside. In my opinion, the mental components are so underrated although I believe that they belong to the main influences when it comes to being healthy. I just came home from another trip to Morocco this week and I realized once again what positive effects trips like this one have on my health. Everytime I’m travelling, I feel better than when I’m at home although my diet may not be as healthy as at home or I may not work out as much. On…

How to deal better with being anxious and nervous before a trip.

Tomorrow I’m leaving for a two-week trip and I’m always pretty nervous before leaving. As soon as I have reached my destination, everything is fine. So, I’m actually not scared about visiting other countries, just the thought of how to get there stresses me out a little. I have already been on several trips now but everytime it’s the same: I’m thinking too much about what to take with me, if I have booked everything right, what could go wrong etc. To be fair, a lot of things went wrong on my last trips.. but anyway, I’m working on myself to worry less…

Why you should travel alone.

At least once in your life. Travelling with other people and being able to share these memories with them when you’re back home is amazing but travlling alone also is. Why? Here are some reasons.. Travelling alone is a big challenge. From the moment you leave the house, you need to find your way around everywhere on your own: Train stations, airports, busy streets in a foreign countries,.. This can be really hard and frustrating but in the end you’ll see that you always arrive at where you wanna go somehow sometime. And when something goes wrong you need to find…

Vegan in Venice

Last weekend I went on a trip to Venice for 4 days with my parents. Has been quite a while since I’d travelled together with them but I told them I was planning to visit Venice and they asked if they could join, so why not? 😉 I can remember I’ve always wanted to visit Venice, I just think it’s a city you must’ve seen in your life, it’s so special with being the water city that it is. As often, I booked our accommodation via airbnb, it’s just the easiest and cheapest way to find one. We didn’t stay…

How veganism changed my life.

Going vegan changed so much more for me than just the way I eat, it literally turned my whole life around. This probably sounds so cliché, I know, but it’s true. So here’s what changed for me: Veganism cured my unhealthy relationship with food Since being a teenager I had struggled with my eating habits and even had an eating disorder, you can read more about this here. Even after overcoming this phase, my relationship with food was never relaxed, I still had lots of disordered thoughts in my mind, was often restricting myself, then again eating way too much, having crazy cravings…

Face your fears to grow.

“Thinking will not overcome fear but action will.” – W. Clement Stone I personally experienced that this is so true. I have always been one of those persons being afraid of a lot of things: Failure, rejection, extreme sports, spiders,.. I guess it’s also because I’m one of those people that are always overthinking everything. I’m actually really proud of myself though. I feel that I got so much better at dealing with my fears. Let me share a little story with you: As you can see from my last blog post, I recently had been on a trip to…
